I’ve been a corporate recruiter for the past 10 years, so I know exactly what employers want to see on a resume. Forget the played out Canva templates or the AI-generated remix of action verbs.

My approach to resume writing is based on augmenting your performance metrics in alignment with your target job(s).

Unless you work in a creative field, unique designs and graphics on resumes are completely unnecessary. In fact, they are often distracting to recruiters. They’re also are not applicant tracking system (ATS) friendly.

The objective of your resume is to concisely convey how you’ll succeed in a job based on your prior and current experience.

How it works

1.        Send me the current version* of your resume or CV in Word format along with one job posting you’re interested in.  You can also send an old or expired job posting for reference if no active job postings are available at the time of service.

2.        We’ll have a 30 minute introductory call where we’ll discuss the positions you’re targeting and any pain points you have with the current version of your resume.

3.        Within 48 hours of our call I’ll send you a two-page first draft for your review.

4.        You will have 3 days to review and provide feedback.

5.        Within 48 hours I will make revisions based on your feedback and send you a second draft for final review.

6.        You will have 3 days to provide final feedback.

7.        Within 48 hours I will make final revisions and send you your final two-page resume/CV ready for application submission.

*You must have a current version of your resume for me to work from. I don’t create resumes from scratch. There are plenty of AI resources that can help you with that first step.

Resume & LinkedIn (LI) Profile Optimization

The resume and LinkedIn (LI) profile optimization service includes everything in the resume service plus personalized recommendations on how to optimize your LI profile.

The text in your LinkedIn profile should be similar, if not the same as, the text in your resume so employers see consistent information about your skills and work experience across both materials. But LinkedIn has additional sections you can optimize that will improve your profile and have you showing up in more Recruiters’ search results based on employers that have LinkedIn Recruiter and Sales Navigator accounts.

I will provide you with personalized recommendations via Word doc* on the following components of your LI profile:

  • Industry and job function-targeted headline (this is the text that appears under your name and in search results)

  • Custom LI URL (if you don’t have one already)

  • About section - since we don’t have a page limit with a LI profile, we can use the About section to showcase more of your career highlights and skills.

  • Featured section

  • Education and certifications

  • Skills section

  • Recommendations section

*You will need to login to your LI account and make the recommended changes yourself. I do not collect LI passwords from clients.
